Potentially Hazardous Asteroid 2013 QR1 close encounter: online event (24 and 25 Aug. 2013)

Next 25 Aug. 2013 at 19:31 UT, the potentially hazardous asteroid 2013 QR1 will reach a minimum distance from the Earth of about 3.0 millions of km. This is a very safe distance, so no risks at all for our planet. It will be a nice opportunity to spy this 250 meters large asteroid moving across the stars.
As usual with these asteroids, the Virtual Telescope Project will offer a live, online event sharing real-time images of 2013 QR1 with live commentary by our scientific staff. All this while it will reaches its minimum distance from us! This time, we will have a double coverage:
- 24 Aug. 2013, starting at 22:00 UT.
- 25 Aug. 2013, starting at 18:30 UT
