Osiris-Rex: back to Earth and beyond – online observation (23 Sept. 2023)
Nasa’s Osiris-Rex is on its way back, ready to deliver sample from asteroid Bennu to Earth. We will try to show in real-time the spacecraft 12 hours before releasing the precious Sample Return Capsule and leaving us for more exploration and discovery.
Next 24 Sept., the Osiris-Rex spacecraft will have a flyby with our planet, delivering its precious capsule with samples of the potentially hazardous asteroid Bennu, three years later after they we collected on-site. Then, the spacecraft will extend its mission to the famous asteroid Apophis.
We will try to spot and share images, in real-time, of Osiris-Rex 12 hours before it will release its precious cargo.
The online, free session is scheduled for 23 Sept., starting at 23:00 UT.
