The Messier 78 nebula: an image – 15 Jan. 2024
Messier 78 is one of the gems kept in the Orion constellation. We managed to capture an image and are pleased to share it here.
The image above comes from the average of 13, 120-second unfiltered exposures, remotely taken with the ARTEC250+Paramount ME+C3Pro61000EC robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Manciano, Italy.
Messier 78 (aka NGC 2068) is a bright reflection nebula and its visibility is due to the two bright stars involved in it. Discovered in 1780, it is located at about 1350 light years from us.
