T Coronae Borealis and asteroid (2) Pallas conjunction: an image – 22 June 2024.

While waiting for the peak of the conjunction involving the Blaze Star (T Coronae Borealis) and asteroid (2) Pallas, we managed to capture and share a new image.

T Coronae Borealis and asteroid (2) Pallas conjunction: 22 June 2024.

T Coronae Borealis and asteroid (2) Pallas conjunction: 22 June 2024.

The image above comes from a single 120-second unfiltered exposure, taken with the ARTEC250+Paramount ME+C3Pro61000EC robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Manciano, Italy.

Both T CrB and Pallas are properly indicated. At the imaging take they were 1/3rd of a degree apart.

T Coronae Borealis is the well known recurrent nova expected to erupt in a few months, while (2) Pallas is the second asteroid to be discovered in 1802

We will show this conjunction at its peak, next 24 June 2024!
