Here it is supernova SN 2024xal in the galaxy PGC 13716, imaged by our telescopes.
The image above comes from the average of 5, 120-second exposures, unfiltered and unguided, remotely taken with the “Elena” (PlaneWave 17″ + Paramount MEII + SBIG STL-6303E) robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Manciano, Italy.
SN 2024xal is a type Ia supernova, discovered on 30 Sept. 2024.
The host intermediate spiral galaxy PGC 13716 is located at about 90 millions of light years.
