Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS: new large field of view image – 13 Nov. 2024
We present an image of comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS taken with an almost full Moon, using our large field-of-view astrograph.
The image above comes from the average combination of 10, 120-second exposures, remotely taken with the Samyang 135+Paramount ME+ZWO ASI 6200MC Pro robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Manciano, Italy, under the darkest skies of the Italian peninsula. The telescope tracked at the motion rates of the comet. Very bright (almost full) Moon on the opposite direction of the sky.
The field of view is about 18 deg. x 11 deg., the image scale is 12”/pixel.
Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS is now prospectively crossing the dense region of the Summer Milky Way, so the background is full of stars and dust.
We will continue monitoring this comet as long as possible.
