Comet C/2025 F2 SWAN (aka “SWAN25F”): a new image – 11 Apr. 2025

We imaged again comet C/2025 F2 SWAN, despite the full Moon and the bright sky at dawn, after it faded a bit since our previous observing session. Here we present our picture.

The image above comes from the sigma clipping combination of 10, 120-second exposures, remotely taken with the ARTEC250+Paramount ME+C3Pro61000EC robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Manciano, Italy.

At the imaging time, the full Moon was setting, while comet C/2025 F2 SWAN was just 12 deg. above the NE horizon, with the sky already brightening ad dawn.

Despite the unfavorable conditions, the comet still shows a nice ion tail, with fine structures, though it looks fainter than three days before.

We will continue monitoring this comet as long as possible.
