Potentially Hazardous Asteroid (1566) Icarus close encounter: poster of the event

Next 16 June 2015, at 15:39 UT, the 1.5 km large Potentially Hazardous Asteroid (1566) Icarus will made a quite rare, close approach with the Earth, reaching a minimum distance of 8 millions of km from us.
Needless to say, this is a definitely safe distance (21 times the distance of our Moon), but close encounters with this famous and very important asteroids are rare: Icarus came closer than this time only in 1968 (and that one was an historic approach), so the Virtual Telescope Project will offer a live, online event sharing real-time images of (1566) Icarus with live commentary by our scientific staff.
The online, free session is scheduled for 16 June 2015, starting at 21:30 UT.
