Comet C/2013 US10 Catalina: 12 Dec. 2015
Nine days after our previous, first visit, we spied comet C/2013 US10 Catalina again, under significantly better geometry, that is with the comet a few more degrees above the horizon (though still far from the ideal).
The image above comes from the average of twelve, 120-seconds exposures, unfiltered, remotely collected with the PlaneWave 17″+Paramount ME+SBIG STL-6303E robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project. The telescope tracked the target during imaging. The object was at 20 degrees above the SE horizon, while the sky was already significantly bright, because of the morning twilight. The image scale is 1.8″/pixel.
