Near-Earth Asteroid 2014 EP12: an image (12 Mar. 2014)
On 14 Mar. 2014, the near-Earth asteroid 2014 EP12 will be at 1.1 millions of km from the Earth. It will be a nice chance to detect this 40-meters large body in the sky. Of course, there are absolutely no risks at all for us.
Above is the average of 4, 60-seconds exposures, remotely taken with the Planewave 17 robotic unit; the telescope tracked the target at its apparent motion, so stars are showing as trails, while 2014 EP12 is a sharp dot in the center of the image.
This asteroid will be shown live on 13 Mar. 2014, starting at 23:00 UT!
