C/2013 UQ4 Catalina: 21 July 2014

After a couple of nights of rainy weather, at Virtual Telescope we managed to image comet C/2013 UQ4 Catalina again. This time we were able to capture less signal, as clouds were back after only 20 minutes of imaging.

The image above comes from 5, 180-seconds exposures, median combined to remove the presence of the stars and leave the comet well visible in its complete morphology. They were remotely taken with the 17″ robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope. As always, the telescope’s mount tracked the apparent motion of the comet.

The image scale is 1.26″/pixel, North is on the right, East on the top.
